Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will work closely with the Communications Executive, Communications Coordinator, and the SCP team to support the development, execution, and monitoring of the school’s communication initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in content creation, digital communications, publication development, and strategic project support within an international school environment. The intern will gain exposure to a variety
of communication platforms and processes while contributing to projects that strengthen the school’s brand and engagement with its community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Content Creation

  • Assist in drafting engaging and brand-aligned social media posts in accordance with the established content calendar.
  • Research and propose ideas for content that highlight school activities, achievements, and community stories.

Email Marketing and Mass Communications

  • Support the department in preparing and sending email campaigns, newsletters, and surveys via Mailchimp and iSAMs. 

Publications

  • Liaise with other school departments to gather content for the monthly school newsletter, handbooks, admission prospectus, and the annual yearbook.
  • Assist the Head of SCP on editing brand slide decks, strategic presentations, and information packs for Admissions.
  • Assist with editing, designing, and layout coordination to ensure timely publication.
  • Review and proofread all publications; ensure all materials are accurate, consistent with
    school branding, and effectively convey key messages to target audiences.

Website Content Updates

  • Update the school’s news blog and event calendar; ensure content is accurate, timely, and visually engaging.

Event Support and Content Gathering

  • Provide hands-on assistance at school events coordinated by the Marketing team.
  • Work with Marketing to obtain photos and videos for post-event communications.

Creative and Digital Design

  • Assist with designing complementary visuals for email communications, social media, and other communication platforms, e.g., banners, social media visual set, etc..
  • Contribute to ensuring a cohesive and consistent visual image across all communication channels.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and digital content trends.
  • Basic knowledge of email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp) and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is a plus.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Internship period: 1–12 months (flexible start and end dates).
