Role and responsibilities:

A F&B Attendant is responsible for directly serving guests who dine at the restaurant. This position

requires employees to have an understanding of professional duties as well as the nature of the job.

 1. Pre-shift Duties

  • Change into uniform; ensure personal hygiene and professional appearance meet company standards before each shift.
  • Clean dining utensils such as bowls, plates, spoons, glasses, etc., ensuring they meet the restaurant's hygiene standards.
  • Fold the cloth and napkins.
  • Set up dining tables and banquet tables according to the restaurant's service style, ensuring they are fully equipped with all necessary utensils and decorative items.

2. Guest Service Procedures

  • Welcome and seat guests at their table.
  • Present the menu and assist guests in selecting food and beverages. Provide recommendations on suitable dishes and drinks upon request.
  • Take orders from guests, confirming the exact names of dishes/drinks, quantities, and any special requests.
  • Relay orders to the cashier, kitchen, and bar.
  • Serve à la carte dishes and beverages according to the guest's order, ensuring delivery to the correct table and in the proper sequence.
  • For buffet service: Be attentive to clearing used plates once guests have finished. Be ready to replace utensils upon guest request.
  • Be prepared to respond to guests' legitimate requests and enthusiastically answer any questions they may have.
  • Be ready to assist guests with any incidents that occur during their meal, such as spilt drinks or broken dishes.
  • Process guest payments according to the restaurant's standard procedures.
  • Farewell guests as they leave, clear the table, and set it up for the next guests.

3. Control and Maintenance of Tools & Equipment

  • Promptly restock service stations to ensure a full supply of dining utensils for guests, including plates, bowls, spoons, forks, knives, glasses, decanters, etc...
  • Carefully maintain all tools and equipment; report to the manager if any items are found to be chipped, damaged, or missing.

4. End-of-shift Duties

  • Report any issues that occurred during the shift to the shift supervisor or Manager.
  • If working the morning shift, conduct a proper handover of duties to the incoming shift.
  • If working the evening shift, perform closing cleaning duties.

5. Other Responsibilities

  • Attend all departmental meetings and report any feedback received from guests.
  • Actively participate in professional development and training courses offered by the hotel/restaurant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.
  • The employee also follows the Ascott Management: EHS (Environment – Health – Safety) Roles & Responsibilities:

a) Carry out their duties in accordance with the company’s EHS Policy, procedures and work instructions.

b) Report EHS issues to their manager or head of department.

c) Be aware of the significant EHS risks, actual or potential, of their work activities and the EHS benefits of improved personal performance.

d) Participate in the EHS programs established by the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good health and a young age are required.
  • Interpersonal Skills, strong verbal and written communication
  • College/Bachelor's degree in hospitality management major.
  • Possesses knowledge of restaurant and hotel cuisine as well as food hygiene and safety regulations

  • Internship opportunities are available across our properties in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Nha Trang, Ha Long, Hai Phong, and Hanoi.
